Protein isolates are high-quality protein preparations obtained from whey, and their main characteristic is that their protein content exceeds 90%. Isolates are obtained through microfiltration or ion exchange methods. Isolates obtained by microfiltration represent the purest form of whey protein because this process removes lactose and fats. They practically contain no fats and lactose, and they have a higher protein-to-concentration ratio compared to whey protein concentrate. They are excellent for rapid digestion, have a good taste, and contain high levels of branched-chain amino acids BCAA. Protein isolate obtained through ion exchange separates proteins based on their electric charge and is also highly soluble, without lactose and fats. It contains about 5% more protein compared to the isolate obtained by microfiltration.

Whey isolate is suitable for individuals with digestive issues and is excellent for athletes since it provides an ideal ratio of amino acids. The bodies of athletes require more BCAA (branched-chain amino acids - leucine, isoleucine, and valine) for increasing strength and mass, and a reduction in fat, all of which can be found in high doses here.
