Iron, Fe, or ferrum is an extremely important mineral in our body, essential for growth, development, and immunity. Women, in general, are more prone to iron deficiency compared to men, and pregnant women are the most vulnerable group. Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, as well as playing a crucial role in oxygen transport, cell growth, and division, among many other biochemical processes.
