Calculates and Sends Significant Data

  • Calculates and sends 6 parameters of running dynamics to your compatible device1
  • Battery Life: Replaceable battery lasts up to 1 year (when used 1 hour per day)
  • Automatically powers on and off
  • Compact Dimensions: Weighing less than 14 grams, you'll forget you're wearing it
  • Connects to compatible devices2 with the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app, enabling automatic data synchronization and sharing with others

Train Intensely and Enjoy the Freedom of Running

The running dynamics sensor easily attaches to your waistband and measures the running dynamics parameters you need to improve. You no longer need to run with a chest heart rate sensor. When paired with a compatible smartwatch1, simply attach the sensor to the center of your waistband on your back and start running.

Gain Insight into Your Fitness

Review and analyze important running parameters such as cadence, stride length, ground contact time, vertical oscillation, and vertical ratio. These biomechanical measurements can help you gain insight into your running fitness to perform better on race day.

How It Works

The running dynamics sensor has a built-in accelerometer that measures chest movement to calculate these 6 running parameters:

  • Cadence is the number of steps per minute, showing the total number of steps (left and right foot).
  • Ground contact time balance shows the balance of ground contact time between your left and right legs during running. It is displayed as a percentage, for example, 53.2 with an arrow indicating left or right.
  • Stride length is the distance measured from one ground contact point to another. It is measured in meters.
  • Vertical oscillation is the bounce while running, displaying the vertical movement of your torso, measured in centimeters for each step.
  • Vertical ratio is the vertical oscillation in relation to stride length. It is displayed as a percentage, with a lower number typically indicating better running form.
  • Ground contact time is the amount of time in each step that you spend on the ground during running, measured in milliseconds.
